Duties

Help

Works with the Marketing Director to develop and implement marketing, publicity, graphics, and media activities for the 2nd Force Support Squadron. Position is under the direct supervision of the Marketing Director. Responsible for graphic design and print operations for the marketing department at 2nd Force Support Squadron, Barksdale AFB. Develops original designs, concepts or visual styles for promotional materials, web pages, social media content, on-base advertisements, and other media. Designs must follow branding guidelines and clearly convey 2 FSS message. Executes designs and layouts using the Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency, with an emphasis on Adobe Photoshop, as well as Illustrator, InDesign and other creative platforms. Collaborates with web and social media public affairs assistant in content creation and strategy planning for, and the maintenance of, 2 FSS website and FSS social media platforms. Works with activity managers and other stakeholders on the design of effective advertising vehicles and appropriate media mixes. Obtains information on upcoming events, special programs, and offers, to create effective promotional materials. To include dates, times and locations are correct and verified. Communicates via email, phone or through the work order system with activity managers about changes, additions, or design of products. Ensures proper layout of all designs for effective printing and cutting, to include setting accurate dimensions and bleed areas. Creates physical marketing pieces, to include posters, flyers, brochures, banners, and more; operates equipment such as printers, laminators, mounters, folders, cutters, etc., safely and effectively. Maintains specialized equipment to ensure it is in working order and reports need for repair or purchase to supervisor. Performs other duties assigned by Marketing Director.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Qualifying Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Applicant must have experience in typing and computer-based word processing (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Graphics/Design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). Must have technical experience in layout and design and experience with scanners, printers and related software. Basic knowledge of printing methods and requirements to optimize final layouts based on substrate, resolution/color specs, and quantity needed for final product is a must. Experience with FSS activities sufficient for developing promotional materials to adequately publicize all programs and events is desired. Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and maintain a harmonious working relationship with supervisors and colleagues. Must be able to produce copy writing without grammatical errors. Must be organized, demonstrate attention to detail, and able to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or other related field is desired.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
