Summary

This position will provide support for all MWR Installation Wide Recreation Events but may fill other positions within the Business Recreation Division.

This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Duties

Help
  • Sets up banquet areas, private parties and outside facilities for formal dinner shows, luaus, meetings, conferences, weddings, etc. involving the physical assembly movement and arrangement of furniture and equipment.
  • Operates a complex electric ground cart for movement of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Performs tasks that require significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases and detailed procedures following drawings, specifications while utilizing knowledge of project requirements.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Requires frequent lifting and moving of equipment weighing over 50 pounds. Very heavy physical effort is required
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
  • Failure to satisfactory complete the physical and background checks may result in separation.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing over 50 pounds.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • ability to remember and follow directions that involve several steps, phases, or detailed procedures, AND
  • ability to use hand tools to assemble items (e.g., hammer, screwdriver, drill, etc...), AND
  • ability to operate an electric ground cart in order to transport food, supplies, and/or equipment.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
