Duties

Help
  • Maintains and repairs a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, components and assemblies. Including but not limited to automatic pin placing machines, automatic scorers, ball returns, and telefoul
  • Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, but referring to manufacturer's diagrams and specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams using test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and feeler gages.
  • Repairs cracks, chips, and splinters in bowling pins and lanes, using wood plastic and lane stock, sands surfaces, and recoat them with appropriate finishes.
  • Determines which mechanical assemblies are malfunctioning, what parts and mechanisms can be reworked or should be replaced with new parts, and the types of adjustments and alignments required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to Stands, walks, bends, and lifts light and medium weight items.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Work experience directly related to the duties describe above. Knowledge of electrical principles and operating characteristics of electrical and electronic components for application as in the duties described.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

1. Must have 3 to 4 years of Mechanical Maintenance Experience.
2. Must have 1 to 2 years Electrical Maintenance Experience.

Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
