Duties

Help
  • You will manage the procurement of information systems equipment including hardware, software, telecommunications equipment and support services.
  • You will plan and coordinate all phases of the acquisition implementation; develop specifications and economic analysis in support of selection and acquisition actions.
  • You will coordinate testing, troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of all hardware and software systems.
  • You will support users and provide assistance via telephone and site visits in the use of hardware, software, trouble shooting and other computer equipment.
  • You will prepare budget data in support of equipment acquisition and reviewer using request for installation software and other hardware peripherals.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Status of Forces (SOFA) and Government driver's licenses.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IAT LEVEL I certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Conducts systems analysis and develops improvement for system software performance, availability, and reliability.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing advice and assistance to customers, troubleshooting, overall network and system issues and provide support in a manner that minimizes interruptions in a customer's ability to carry out critical mission activities.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: meeting communication needs, communication support to U.S. forces throughout the regions.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Performs incident resolution and root cause analysis, develop and apply new techniques, technologies, and applications to previously unsolvable problems and recommend solutions to influence agency IT policies or programs.
