  • You will analyze, evaluate and integrate technical and non-technical data from multiple sources to analyze developments in assigned area, and present conclusions to supervisors and other offices.
  • You will independently track multiple simultaneous assignments and present status as needed to supervisors and other offices.
  • You will develop deadlines and projects with supervisor and will have independent responsibility for all actions, decisions, and technical accuracy in the assigned area.
  • You will interpret existing policy and resolve conflicts that arise by analyzing technical and non-technical information and producing innovative solutions based on that data.
  • You will apply new theories, developments or procedures to management problems not solved by standard guidelines and policies, and attains approval for and documents new approaches to enable repeat application.
  • You will identify gaps in existing policy or authority documents governing Navy cryptologic operations.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • 1) Collecting, reviewing, interpreting, and developing input to policy governing the operation and administration of the Navy component of the U.S. Cryptologic System.
  • 2) Evaluating impact of proposed cryptologic policy and procedures and developing the cryptologic component's response and any related procedures.
  • 3) Preparing proposed, draft and final Navy cryptologic policy documents, including briefs, messages, authority documents, agreements, position papers and studies.
  • 4) Analyzing, evaluating, and integrating technical and non-technical data from multiple sources to analyze developments, and present conclusions to supervisors and other offices.

Education

You must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- substitution of education for experience is not permitted at this grade level.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
