As a YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM COORDINATOR, GS-0301-11, you will manage Yellow Ribbon Program by planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing the National Guard Yellow Ribbon Programs; coordinate with Army and Air National Guard leadership to schedule events relating to the Alert, Pre-Mobilization, Mobilization, and the 30, 60, 90 Day Post-Deployment Reintegration; serve as Primary Point of Contact responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating event activities based on the needs of the deploying personnel and their families and standard course curriculum; evaluate course curriculum to identify opportunities for improvement and to better serve soldiers and families; serve as principal point of contact regarding the Yellow Ribbon Programs and charged with collaborating with various Local Organizations, State, and National Government Agencies for outreach opportunities, support services, training, policy interpretation, and research; coordinate with Joint NGB DoD Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) Management Office to develop tailored reintegration programs; coordinate with Program Leaders of the Family Assistance Center (FAC), Family Readiness Group (FRG), State Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Small Business Administration, Education Offices, Military One Source, Youth Coordinator, Operation Military Kids, Military Family Life Consultants, Air/Army Chaplains, TRICARE, Personal Financial Consultants, Army/Air Chaplains, Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ) Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), TRICARE, NGB Funded Contractors, Army Reserve Combat Stress Teams, Veterans Administration Outreach, Local Veterans Centers, Public Health Services Organizations; serve as Program's Fiscal Resource Manager; ensure a process to continuously solicit input from Service and Family Members who attend DoD YRRP Events and programs; serve as States Representative at conferences and meetings on the DoD Yellow Ribbon Program; may direct the daily activities of a small staff assigned to assist in carrying out the operations of the state.

  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • You may be required to successfully complete a 1- or 2- year probation/trail period to assess performance, conduct, agency needs, public interest, and efficiency. Employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agencies interest.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Enlisted (E7 to E8), Warrant (WO1 to CW4), and Officer (1LT to CPT)

Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.

Education
