Duties

Help
  • You will develop and implement overall administrative operational programs and procedures for the Strike Fighter Weapons School, Atlantic based command directives and requirements.
  • You will advise all levels of leadership on administrative matters and provide guidance to all staff personnel on the full range of administrative support services.
  • You will participate in command level meetings, programs, serve as a representative at meetings, and prepare and submit administrative reports/documentation.
  • You will personally address inquiries, correspondence, message traffic, tasks requiring action and reply in a timely and efficient manner.
  • You will serve as liaison and coordinate all aspects of the command’s personnel actions for civilian and military personnel matters.
  • You will formulate, execute, and manage the command’s operating budget ensuring compliance, provide justification, oversee expenditures, recommend and submit changes to ensure fund availability.
  • You will be responsible for the maintenance and daily upkeep of the command’s facility, direct staff to ensure the facility is clean, repairs are made, and supplies are adequate.
  • You will be responsible for evaluating administrative program operations based on day-to-day observations, analyzing work processes, special projects, identifying problems, and inefficiencies.
  • You will develop recommendations and implement new or modified guidelines, work processes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of timelines of work processes and information dissemination.
  • You will plan, assign work schedules, evaluate performance, recommend promotions and awards, approve leave requests, identify training requirements, counsel employees and take disciplinary actions as required.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in and possess thorough knowledge of the command's mission and functions; goals and objectives; organizational structure and individual program responsibilities; and relationships with higher echelons, other commands, and outside agencies.
  • Experience in and possess knowledge of key personnel and lines of authority, and the installation to effectively manage administrative activities and the flow for information.
  • Experience in and possess the ability to identify problem and/or potential problem areas based on daily observance or studies.
  • Experience in and possess the ability to analyze and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative programs.
  • Experience in and possess the ability to develop written and oral recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience and possess knowledge of policies, precedents, procedures, accepted practices and regulations which govern military and civilian personnel office support and administration, budget, manpower, maintenance, security, and property accountability.
  • Experience in and possess knowledge of administrative concepts, principals, and practices sufficient to foresee problems and perform independent studies designed to evaluate procedures/processes.
  • Experience in and possess the ability to develop and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and timeliness of work operations.
  • Experience in and possess the ability to deal effectively with military and civilian personnel of all ranks, and/or local officials and businessmen.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
OR
Possession of an LL.M. that is related to this position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
