Duties

Help

As a IT Specialist (DATA MANAGEMENT), GS-2210-12/13, your typical work assignments may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Functions as OAIT's Records Validation Analyst.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert responsible for planning, designing, managing, implementing, and overseeing the records verification and validation processes for EOP PRA records. Leads the implementation of reliable, accurate, complete, and automated processes for auditing PRA records.
  • Serves as a technical expert on records management issues, specifically issues related to verifying and validating the completeness, usability, accuracy, and compliance of EOP PRA records and collaborates with technical partners to design and implement plans to audit PRA records.
  • Maintains comprehensive, end-to-end documentation of EOP's PRA verification and validation processes, through collaboration with technical partners.
  • Develops reports, manuals, and presentations to demonstrate EOP's verification and validation processes to partners in OAIT, applicable counsel, and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
  • Identifies and recommends to Data Governance and OAIT enhancements to records technical requirements and processes to address issues and emerging trends.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-12:
You must have one full year (52 weeks) of IT-related experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service or private sector. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:

  • Maintaining advanced systems or program specifications for a data management program;
  • Participating in the implementation or auditing of technical processes for records or data management;
  • Communicating status, risk, and issues to stakeholders; and
  • Maintaining compliance with internal policies and procedures and applicable laws, regulations, and standards in implementing systems or technical processes.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-13:
You must have one full year (52 weeks) of IT-related experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service or private sector. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:
  • Implementing and maintaining advanced systems or program specifications for a data management program;
  • Implementing or auditing technical processes for records or data management;
  • Partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop and implement processes; and
  • Incorporating advances in data processing techniques and technology into records or data management processes.

-AND-

In addition to the specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
  1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
