Duties

Help
  • Advocates for and defends the Commander’s PPBE submissions through direct interface with Service, Joint Staff, and OSD officials in both formal and informal engagement opportunities.
  • Develops and prepares a variety of correspondence and other documentation, i.e., formal letters, position papers, reports, staff studies, staff summary packages, briefings, charts, bullet background papers, etc.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions.
  • Conducts strategic-level interagency coordination when necessary.
  • Provides technical assistance and subject matter expertise to validate and document capability requirements in accordance with the JCIDS.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • The incumbent may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft
  • The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam
  • This is a Drug Testing Designated Position. This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the Drug Abuse Testing Program) .
  • The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy5-1.
  • May be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Call back and emergency duty are regular requirements of this position.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by: 1) assessing instructions and doctrine to determine the changes needed to support the agency's position through the planning, budgeting, and execution process; 2) assessing information such as geopolitical details, strategic shifts , or adversary capabilities in order to develop strategic programming and planning guidance; 3) analyzing complex issues within the agency's operations regarding policies, manpower, training , or technology.
