THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION

Indefinite appointment cannot exceed 5 years.


Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered.

The primary purpose of the SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) LEADER, WL-3806-10, is to serve as a working leader of at least three employees in accomplishing trades and labor work within the Blade Shop. The highest level of nonsupervisory work led is Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft), WG-3806-10.

May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Compatible Military Assignment and Grade are required. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position.

Priority consideration is first given to the areas below.

AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment.
AREA II= Current California National Guard members.

Military Grades: E-8 through E-9, or W-1

Warrant Officer Candidates must have received an acceptance letter or an official order confirming eligibility.
Must upload WOC eligibility documents.

Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance.
Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards.
Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.

Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required.

Qualifications

General Experience: Possess experience, education or training to plan, manufacture, and install cylindrical, square, or rectangular-shaped objects that have easily constructed fastenings such as single and double-hem edges and single, double or grooved seams.

SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) LEADER, WL-3806-10: Must have at least 24 months of experience demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series; experience performing administrative functions; experience reading and interpreting a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment; and experience providing guidance and lead others in work related directly to this occupational series.
