Serves as a Materials Handler in the Warehouse of the Hale Koa Hotel.

The area of consideration for this vacancy is current employees of the Hale Koa Hotel.
Performs a full range of warehousing duties in a large warehouse or as the senior employee in a smaller warehouse or supply facility.
Receives shipments. Develops and establishes appropriate layout for placement for incoming items. Performs or directs the unloading of trucks and freight cars. Screens shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies. Identifies items damaged in shipment. Handles a significant variety of hazardous materials cognizant of specialized handling and storage requirements for each item. Takes appropriate precautions for all hazardous material. Updates records to reflect current stock levels for all items stocked. Bar-codes incoming items as appropriate. Directs items to specifically prescribed warehouse or storage locations. Identifies appropriate locations that facilitate quick retrieval of items being stored to meet future requirements. Coordinates receiving and shipping schedules. Conducts and directs inventories. As a senior employee, provides work direction to other employees.
Performs other duties as assigned.
1. Must utilize an in-depth knowledge of the overall warehousing plan, documentation requirements and accepted warehousing methods, procedures and techniques.
2. Must be able to prepare inventory reports, screen and identify shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies, and direct shipments to appropriate storage areas.
3. Must have skill in utilizing automated equipment and systems.
4. Must be able to operate material moving equipment and vehicles both inside the warehouse and in outdoor storage facilities.
5. Must possess knowledge of special safety handling required hazardous materials.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
