Duties

Help
  • You will Provide subject matter expertise in antiterrorism force protection in Antiterrorism Force Protection (AT/FP).
  • You will implement and track completion of resulting security tasks and initiatives, as required.
  • You will keep regional security director informed of all personnel security matters.
  • You will independently resolve issues involving conflicting security requirements, as needed.
  • You will periodically review and update security Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and directives.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will obtain Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 2 years of selection.

Qualifications

GS-09 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Implementing guidance interpreted from policies and regulations for a broad range of security programs to include Physical, Personnel, Information, Operations, and Industrial Security;2) Independently facilitating the resolution of conflicting security requirements;3) Providing courtroom security;4) Administering a security program; and 5) Developing and delivering security education program training.


GS-07 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Providing technical advice and assistance interpreted from policies and regulations for a broad range of security programs to include Physical, Personnel, Information, Operations, an Industrial Security;2) Assisting in the resolution of conflicting security requirements;3) Tracking completion of security tasks and initiatives;4) Reviewing and updating security Standard Operating Procedures periodically;and5) Monitoring the effectiveness of security education programs.

Education

GS-07: One full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement

GS-09: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

This position is eligible for ad-hoc/situational telework at the discretion of management.

Incumbent is considered "Essential Personnel" and subject to recall in the event of national security or command security.
