Duties

Help
  • Serves as a Cyber Capability Developer (CCD) in the Army’s Cyber Solutions Development Detachment which is attached to the 780th MI BDE.
  • Conducts specialized research and development to develop capabilities in support of Joint and National Cyberwarfare requirements.
  • Works on a multi-disciplinary team to develop and field cyberspace tools and capabilities.
  • Assists with writing capability documentation and user manuals for the purpose of giving or obtaining information on non-routine problems
  • Tests code and assures software and systems quality and functionality.
  • Participates on teams based on skills necessary for project and availability of personnel; teams consist of military, civilian and contractor personnel.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency and Defense Intelligence Agency accredited facilities and networks [Military and External Affiliates Division (MEAD) Security In-Processing (SIP) process].
  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required 25% or less.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Stress is inherent in the nature of the work. Under crisis operations, may be subject to short notice expanded hours and possible recall situations and irregular work hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Overtime/shift work may be required.
  • This position is considered Non-Combat Essential (NCE) in support of the Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increased tension and mobilization and could be assigned to any location worldwide.
  • Employees assigned to NCE positions must sign DD Form 2365.
  • Failure to perform the duties of this position in an emergency may result in appropriate action - defined as separation for the efficiency of the Federal service under the procedures contained in 5 CFR 752.
  • This position is designated Mission Essential, and the incumbent must be able to remain on duty or make every effort to report to duty on-time during emergency and/or crisis situations.
  • USCYBERCOM Cyber Mission Force (CMF) certification at the Basic Certified Capability Development (BCCD) level as specified by USCYBERCOM CMF, Army, 780th MI BDE, and CSD policies is a condition of employment.
  • Depending on experience and skill levels, portions of the CMF training may require incumbent to perform an extended TDY for a period of 3 to 6 months.
  • Failure to achieve and maintain certification requirements will result in removal from this position.
  • The incumbent must achieve and maintain CMF certification within the following timelines: USCYBERCOM CMF certification at the Basic Cyber Capabilities Developer (BCCD) Level and any additional Army requirements within 12 months.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Writing and/or coding new/modifies existing cyber capabilities, computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs; collaborates with others in developing and fielding cyber, computer, and network tools, systems, and capabilities associated with offensive, defensive, and command and control cyberspace operations; and, providing support to functional evaluations of developed cyberspace capabilities.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, two full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
