Duties

Help
  • Leads and or supervises the operation during second shift of program operations and in the absence of the Fitness Manager.
  • Conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance as appropriate.
  • Assists in the assessment of facility requirements and helps develop plans and specifications for projects to augment or replace fitness and sports facilities.
  • Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.

  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
  • Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED.
  • Must complete the following courses/classes: MWR Orientation Course; Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
  • A one-year Supervisory probationary period may be required.
  • Must be willing to accept part-time employment.
  • Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • documented experience carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports; guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports, AND
  • ability to obtain and then maintain the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, & AED, MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).

This position is located at Atkins Functional Fitness Facility but may fill other vacancies within the Business Recreation Division.

The salary depends on the actual hours worked. The hourly rate for leave and pay will be $21.56 to $26.35 per hour.
