Duties

Help
  • Educate supervisors, trainers and certifiers on servicing component’s instructions that govern the training program, training objectives, forms, documentation and their responsibilities.
  • Develop education and training materials and testing procedures to meet appropriate and realistic training objectives and goals.
  • Instruct designated trainers on the fundamentals of curriculum development, instructional techniques, effective job skills training including initial orientation, qualification/upgrade, and recurring training for the trainer's functional activity.
  • Identify training requirements to ensure training equipment is operational, supplies and classroom spaces are available, and funding is acquired.
  • Direct the Enlisted Training program to ensure all personnel requiring training are trained and training is conducted and documented.
  • Conduct mandatory training on Group New Employee Orientation, Patient Safety Training, Basic Life Support, Automatic External Defibrillator/ Annual Training.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required - Tier 1 Position (Public trust); low risk.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required. Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position is required Tuberculosis Testing and/or record of Tuberculosis Testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative support for a training program, such as maintaining training and/or education programs; developing or preparing lesson plans; reviewing course materials, aids, and devices; scheduling classes; instructing; managing training databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education:Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Training and Development.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
