Help
  • Coordinate production activities within the Division to ensure that production deadlines are met and commitments are fulfilled, and that optimum quality of products and efficiency of operations are maintained.
  • Outline priorities and deadlines and determines changes in operations when necessary.
  • Assess employee and equipment productivity and make recommendations regarding manpower requirements, methods of improvement, acquisition of new equipment, etc.I
  • Develop strategic and operational plans; analyzes operations and assesses the impact on program requirements.
  • Prepare special or recurring reports and studies relating to Bindery operations.
  • Exercises full supervisory responsibility over the division.

Qualifications

To minimally qualify for the Printing Officer, PG - 1654 - 14 , you must meet the following requirements:

You must have 1 year of specialized experience at the PG-13 (or equivalent) grade level or higher. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:

1) Providing continuous oversight and guidance through subordinates on all aspects of printing, production, and employee matters.
2) Developing strategic and operational plans to adapt to changing technology and priorities.
3) Making decisions related to manpower, equipment, and improvements within a production environment, and
4) Coordinating, planning, and interacting with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure manufacturing and production deadlines are met.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (09/11/2025) to be considered.

Education

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used or this grade level.

Background Investigation:

For a Suitability:
To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.


The selectee will work shift 1. Shift hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
