Duties

Help
  • Provides operational and administrative direction and counseling to subordinate staff on adjudicative and program issues.
  • Monitors the overall quality of work of the unit by periodically reviewing the performance of each subordinate employee, including a thorough review of adjudicative determinations.
  • Reviews the full scope of adjudicative decisions made by subordinates to confirm that correct interpretations of laws and regulations were applied, and proper decisions were made.
  • Resolves extremely complex, often unique, citizenship acquisition and loss cases for which there is little precedent.
  • Provides expert advice and guidance to PPT management on a wide range of complex vital records and citizenship verification matters that directly impact the effectiveness , efficiency, and integrity with which vital records services are provided.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience may have been gained in work such as developing, examining, investigating, adjudicating, or authorizing claims arising under the immigration and/or nationality laws of the United States.
