The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for a Chief for Cyber Security for SSC/TI (NH-2210-04, GS-14/15).

You will join a dynamic leadership team delivering current and emerging warfighter readiness capabilities to enable Guardian high-end advanced testing and training activities, and ensuring every warfighter is ready to defeat the adversary from competition through conflict. You will have to apply advanced concepts, principles, and practices to manage a full range of Cybersecurity activities. You will also provide technical inputs to programs, analyze alternatives, and recommend direction for the acquisition and sustainment of programs.
Ideal Candidate:
The Operational Test and Training Infrastructure Integrated Program Office is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cybersecurity Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate must have extensive leadership experience, in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies and risk assessments as they pertain to system lifecycles, and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as a strong understanding of federal Cybersecurity regulations and guidelines.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of IT assessment, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation as well as knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, managing IT projects and resources, monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. Ability to lead and manage information systems planning, development, implementation, cooperation, and maintenance.
2. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for the coordinated management of IT programs to include providing oversight of multiple IT projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities such as life cycle management and program governance.
3. Knowledge of the principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; includes translating functional requirements into technical requirements used for logical design or alternative technologies or approaches. Ability to research and analyze external products to determine their potential for meeting mission requirements and business needs.
4. Knowledge of concepts, practices, and techniques used to identify, engage, influence and monitor relationships with individuals and groups connected to IT work/development efforts. Includes those who are actively involved, those who exert influence over the process and its results, and those who have a vested interest in the outcome. Ability to work effectively with customers to assess their requirements then provide information, expertise, and assistance to satisfy those needs.
5. Ability to inspire, motivate and guide others toward goal accomplishments. Leadership ability, including the ability to coach, mentor and challenge integrated product team members; ability to adapt leadership style to variety of situations, and ability to model high standards of honesty, integrity, trust, openness, and respect for the individual by applying these values to daily behavior. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy both orally and in writing with technical accuracy. Use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.
Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI clearance.
Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
PCS / Incentive funding is authorized.
Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework"
Position will close in 7 business days or 75 applications (whichever comes first).
Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 25 days per year.
May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
This is a cybersecurity position; the employee will attain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s).
The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
