This is a Regular Part-Time employment category position; guaranteed 30 hours per week.

Duties

Help

  • Performs all supervisory duties for assigned bartenders, operations assistants, wait staff, bussers, and hostesses to include:
    • hiring
    • scheduling
    • disciplining
    • writing evaluations
    • approve/disapprove leave
    • award submission
    • training
  • Responsible for leading overall dining and bar operations on a nightly basis while supervising room preparation, food presentation,
    and customer service and employee guidance.
  • Strictly adheres to all Dram Shop theory practices and instills these practices in employees.
  • Establishes meetings with dining room, bar, and kitchen staff to create weekly, monthly, and seasonal specials, wine and beer parings and
    dining programs to ensure menu does not become stagnant.
  • Evaluates reports to ensure menu is updated quarterly to reflect customers' favorites and eliminate unordered items. Identifies new technologies and industry trends, providing ideas to management on how to incorporate these into daily operations.
  • Maintains inventory and creates par stocks for supplies, alcohol, and food as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Responsible for overseeing the issue, receipt, and control of cash boxes.
  • Prepares a report of all significant occurrences during the shift.
  • Reviews the schedule of functions that are to take place during the assigned shift and ensures they are carried out as planned by management.
  • Ensures that only authorized personnel use the facility, and that club rules, regulations and established procedures are followed.
  • Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer problems.
  • Provides instruction and guidance to all club staff members on functions taking place during the shift. Inspects and secures facility at the end of the shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty (weekends and holidays).

Qualifying Experience:
  • Must have experience related to the management aspects of food, beverage, or hospitality services.
  • Experience must have included planning, organizing, and taking responsibility for services provided.
  • Such experience may have been acquired as a manager or supervisor in a full-service food establishment -OR- hotel/motel -OR- as a manager of a fast food or limited-service food/beverage facility -OR- high-volume bar operation.
  • Must also possess experience which provides knowledge of cash handling procedures and sales operations such as:
    • receipt
    • disbursement
    • examination
    • deposit
    • use of cash accountability control methods.
  • Must have supervisory experience.
  • Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing and have experience working with the public.
  • Experience working with multilingual customers and employees is highly desirable.
Condition(s) of Employment:
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check.
  • May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty (weekends and holidays).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
