Duties

Help
  • You will schedule and physically conduct inventories for various programs to include reimbursable programs, sponsor-owned material, Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) and Non-NWCF material continuously.
  • You will maintain the status of material needed for customer support and ensures efficient storage operations.
  • You will serve as a contact for statistical physical inventory projects to improve inventory reliability.
  • You will be responsible for local management of material and retail supply support for assigned claimant, activity, agency, command and/or other regional tenants/reimbursable activities.
  • You will coordinate supply actions with transportation/shipping personnel and other supply sections or organizations to assure effective responses to correspondence, expediting requests, and deficiency.
  • You will arrange expeditious material pick-up and delivery to outlying service areas as well as outside activities.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing supply support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing supply activities utilizing the knowledge of supply operations and program requirements and the ability to apply established supply policies, day-to-day servicing techniques, and regulations. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Assists in conducting physical inventory checks for various programs to resolve discrepancies. 2) Receives and reviews supply documentation. 3) Compares lists of customers' supply requests against stock records for availability of supplies/parts. 4) Knowledge of automated supply systems to conduct standard supply actions. 5) Assists in coordinating transportation of supply/ materials with customers to assure no delays or discrepancies.

THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
