You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security Department (Code 109) of PSNS and IMF.
Current permanent employees of UIC 4523A, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Preference eligibles and DoD Retained Grade Preference eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
You will manage and provide oversight of firewalls and intrusion protection systems to ensure the integrity of network systems.
You will configure firewalls in conjunction with other security devices (e.g., intrusion detection systems, security equipment, or similar devices) to establish a secure network system.
You will monitor network security service performance to track and provide solutions to possible intrusion or firewall issues.
You will analyze and diagnose networked system failures to isolate sources of problems (i.e. equipment, software, applications) and resolve issues.
You will resolve Information Technology (IT) interface problems within network infrastructure.
You will configure and optimize network, hubs, routers, switches, VPN, Encrypters and other network devices.
You will analyze and monitor network performance and capacity.
You will define and maintain network architecture and infrastructure.
You will lead IT system development projects to ensure effective network environments.
You will monitor IT project risks to ensure project remains on schedule, within budget and deliverables meet quality standards.
