As a Administrative Officer at the GS-0341-13 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare and submit requests for budget adjustments in response to changes in programs, staffing levels, and/or unanticipated events related to mission requirements.
  • Conduct accountability inventories to ensure accuracy of an organization's property records.
  • Complete a variety of employee personnel actions to ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Review and evaluate administrative policies and procedures to recommend and effect changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency of administrative operations.
  • Recommend solutions to senior management for deficiencies, problem areas, and/or weaknesses in financial activities.
  • Evaluate work performance and provide performance reviews to subordinate staff.

Qualifications

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.

  • One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply.

To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must meet one of the following:
  • Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties:
    1. Leading administrative staff to accomplish work assignments;
    2. Advising on financial and accounting operations to maintain proper financial balance and ensure financial actions are within rules and regulations;
    3. Developing budget requests and monitoring budget execution of an organization;
    4. Providing advice and assistance on human resources matters such as position descriptions, performance standards, and personnel actions; AND
    5. Reviewing and evaluating administrative and financial programs and procedures to identify weaknesses or deficiencies and recommend solutions.
There is no education substitution at the GS-13 level.
