United States Space Forces-Space (S4S) at Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), CA is searching for a well-qualified candidate to fill the Division Chief, Readiness and MPA Manager position for 3-star Headquarters staff. Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledge of Joint and USAF contingency and war mobilization plan requirements to include a working knowledge of operational requirements, theater specific planning requirements and Air Force deliberate and crisis action planning processes to include UTC and force structure wartime requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge and skill in the application of DoD, Joint and AF management engineering principles, concepts, methodologies, principles and practices relating to military and civilian personnel management, financial management, manpower, services readiness and management information systems.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of Command readiness program operations, in addition to knowledge of the pertinent laws, regulations, policies and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources, e.g. personnel, funds and equipment.
2. Knowledge of Joint and USAF contingency and war mobilization plan requirements to include a working knowledge of operational requirements, theater specific planning requirements and Air Force deliberate and crisis action planning processes to include UTC and force structure wartime requirements.
3. Comprehensive knowledge and skill in the application of DoD, Joint and AF management engineering principles, concepts, methodologies, principles and practices relating to military and civilian personnel management, financial management, manpower, services readiness and management information systems.
4. Ability to integrate mission requirements and develop or implement planning directives to successfully accomplish USSF deployment and home station missions.
5. Ability to plan, organize and negotiate effectively with senior analysts and management to implement recommendations where proposals involve substantial resources and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures.
6. Expert knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of Wartime programs.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the position.

  • May be subject to recall during other than normal duty hours and may be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft within CONUS or to downrange sites in the performance of Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY).
  • PCS/Relocation funding is available.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework".
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
