Duties

Help

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for criminal litigation. This position serves as a Supervisory Case Litigation Management Specialist in the Criminal Division. Typical work assignments will include:

  • performing a full range of first-line supervisory duties associated with supervising case litigation management specialists (criminal legal administrative specialists);
  • organizing and directing the activities of case litigation management specialists;
  • analyzing a variety of electronic materials by type, size, or format to determine time and resources needed to complete processing and/or to determine the next steps for their handling and management;
  • using software tools to process voluminous electronic materials consistent with case requirements;
  • generating electronic discovery productions from voluminous or complex files, where the production contains text, native, and load files in addition to Bates-numbered images with redactions, along with indices of discovery to track what has been produced; and
  • serving as a subject-matter expert regarding the generation of electronic discovery productions and participating in conferences with prosecutors and opposing parties to discuss electronic discovery issues.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as experience providing legal and technical support to attorneys; providing technical advice to legal support staff; providing technical advice to litigation teams on legal automation requirements and systems capabilities; organizing and managing case specific discovery; and/or analyzing complex litigation support requirements to develop or recommend appropriate strategies to meet litigation needs.
