About the position: This position will be assigned to the FSS Marketing Office on Whiteman.

This position is considered Regular Part-Time. RPT are guaranteed 20 hours, however could work up to 40 hours per week. RPT employees are eligible to earn annual & sick leave; sign up for benefits to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401(k) and NAF Retirement.

Employee will be eligible for the use of the fitness center golf course, bowling center, club, swimming pools and other activities.

Duties

Help

  • Responsible for developing flyers, to include print and multi-media type, booklets and event advertisement and the distribution of said advertisement.
  • Designs and produces logos, certificates, invitations and advertisement copy for publication.
  • Uses appropriate judgment, creativity, and expertise in layout and design.
  • Prepares presentation slides with specific standards in layout and writing styles.
  • Assists with the edit of all copy material for sentence structure, grammar, typos and punctuation.
  • Responsible for maintaining the squadron website, to include updates to both the restricted and unrestricted sites.
  • This duty involves links with all 509 FSS activities, which may also include paid advertising.
  • Must be able to assimilate all information and add to web pages in accordance to AF instructions and guidance.
  • Must keep abreast of changes to AFI's, manuals and guidance covering web pages and maintenance as well as ensuring all licenses, registrations and clearances for the web page are kept up-to-date.
  • Coordinates with the necessary installation offices to ensure web pages follow all security and accessibility procedural guidance, regulations and policies.
  • Handles and tracks day-to-day facility updates as well as coordinating consumer requests from the web customer to the facilities.
  • Uses Desk Top publishing software to include; Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw and Creative Suite, and PowerPoint to generate copy and design of advertising publications, signs, etc.
  • Conveys advertising strategies using black and white and color mediums including, but not limited to photographs, word copy and composition to produce artwork with readability as determined by the customer.
  • Must track project time consumption, account for cumulative total hours devoted to specific projects or tasks.
  • Schedules production time on a priority first come basis to ensure that work is submitted and completed in a timely manner ensuring overall success of a squadron event.
  • Tracks and stores projects for easy retrieval with document file and systems to maintain continuity of office efficiency.
  • Will assist with the maintenance and changing of the Marquee and facility monitors.
  • Monitors, maintains and updates marketing social media outlets and smart phone applications.
  • Occasionally required to work outside normal business hours to support unit events.
  • Must be able to drive a government vehicle in the performance of duties relating to the Marketing Office such as to retrieve documents from local vendors, attend meetings in the local community or on base, purchase supplies, deliver marketing items, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Requires progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work which has provided knowledge of marketing, design principles/practices, graphics and web design.
  • Applicant must have a working knowledge of web building and maintenance, with preferred experience in coding HTML.
  • MUST possess knowledge and working experience with computer graphic design and desk top publishing.
  • MUST have working knowledge of the following software: Desktop publishing and design software, website administration tools, Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Graphics Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Applicant MUST have the ability to design and layout advertising copy from several of the programs listed.
  • Experience must demonstrate knowledge required to operate equipment such as a large format printer, laminator, high volume digital printer, electric paper cutter, and digital photography equipment.
  • MUST be organized and creative with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks while maintaining deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Light lifting up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis is required.
  • Incumbent is required to drive a government motor vehicle in the performance of his/her duties.
  • MUST be able to provide a copy of his/her driving record.
  • MUST be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier one background investigation.
  • THIS IS A DRUG TESTING DESIGNATED POSITION. THE INCUMBENT IS SUBJECT TO RANDOM TESTING FOR DRUG USE.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
