Where possible, responsibilities of Detailees will be commensurate to their current grade levels. Detailees will not perform law enforcement functions.
At the discretion of ICE and CBP, Detailees will be assigned to perform some or all of the following duties at the several ICE and CBP facilities throughout the interior of the United States:
Data Entry: Enter and maintain data elements in relevant information systems;
Operational Planning Support: Assist ICE and CBP in developing concepts of operation and campaign plans to execute internal arrests and raids as well as patrols along the Southwest Border (SWB);
Processing and Throughput Logistics: Assist ICE and CBP in managing the physical flow of detained illegal aliens from arrest to deportation, as well as manage associated data;
Logistical Support: Assist ICE and CBP in managing the logistical planning to move law enforcement personnel, operational capabilities, and support equipment across the United States to improve efficiencies and the effectiveness of operations.
At the discretion of ICE and CBP, in consultation with the DHS Volunteer Force. Detailees may also be assigned to liaise with the DHS Volunteer Force Planning Team.

Current federal employees who have served with their current agency for more than 90 days and are no longer in a probationary period.
Employees in good performance standing and have no current or pending disciplinary actions.
Possess an HSPD-12 compliant identification badge (e.g., PIV, Military ID).
Have a government issued travel card (preferred).
Supervisory approval; completion of the Supervisory Deployment Authorization form.
May be subject to workplace safety protocols.
Deployment locations are based on need and are not negotiable.

Additional information
Work Hours: Detailees may be required to work evenings and/or weekends and holidays. Extensive overtime may be required. Appropriate premium pay rates will be used in accordance with federal pay regulations.
Deployment and Duration of Detail: Deployments will be up to 180 days. You may be asked to deploy within 96 hours of receiving all approvals.
Location: Facilities along the U.S. border or ICE and CBP facilities throughout the interior of the United States. Locations will extend to other geographic areas according to the need. Conditions at some locations could be austere. Deployment locations are based on need and are not negotiable.
Salary Expenses: ICE or CBP may reimburse agencies for all base pay, overtime, and premium pay incurred by employees while serving on interagency detail.
Travel Expenses: Travel expenses related to the detail may be reimbursed by ICE or CBP via travel on invitational orders.
Travel will be paid in accordance with applicable government travel regulations. In most circumstances, Detailees will need to have a federal government travel card.
Compensation: Detailees would continue to be paid at their current rate of pay and with their current locality. Grade and step would not be affected.
