Duties

Help
  • Responsible for the development and management of a consultative sales environment for the customers and directs, through subordinate managers, the full range of account planning and related activities for all printing procurements.
  • Oversees a group of service teams that manage relationships and work for all of the Federal agency customers.
  • Independently manages customer agency contacts, relationships, and the technical work of the unit.
  • Manages and reviews the full range of contracting and publishing functions, from developing specifications and awarding contracts, to terminating contracts for the good of the service.
  • Manages fluctuations in workload volume while evenly distributing assignments across subordinate units.

  • TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify
  • Must obtain a FAC-C Professional Certification in No Later Than 2 years

Qualifications

To qualify for the Printing Officer, PG - 1654 - 15 , you must meet the following requirements:

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-14 grade level in the Federal Service that includes:
1. Providing administrative and technical supervision for printing and publishing work/programs.
2. Providing support and guidance on contractual decisions and procurement policies/procedures.
3. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (08/22/2025) to be considered.

Background Investigation:

To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years, depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation.
