Duties

Help

Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables. Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters.
Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables. Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.
Clean kitchen equipment such as worktables, sinks and refrigerators. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses, and silverware. Loads and operate dishwashers. Stores cleaned dishes, glasses and silverware.
Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors. Cleans windows and washes walls. Cleans and sanitizes trash cans; disposes of trash.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Light to moderate physical effort is required. Lifts and moves items weighing up to 20 pounds.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoors in areas that have adequate light and ventilation. Exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, and hot working surfaces, and extreme temperature changes when entering walk-in refrigerators or freezing units.
WORKING CONDITIONS: There is a danger of slipping on floors where food or beverages have been dropped.
Physical examination required for position.
Must be able to work varying shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easy to learn.

FWS Allowances and Differentials

This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
