Help
  • Serve as Section Chief responsible for the overall planning, directing, coordinating, training, reviewing, scheduling, budgeting and supervising the management and disposal, acquisition and leasing activities of their assigned branch.
  • Responsible and accountable for all real estate portfolio management and disposal, acquisition and leasing functions.
  • Serve as a key member of the Real Estate Division budgeting team, providing past and projected workload for budget and execution planning and developing P2 worksheets for all programmatic functions.
  • Provide policy and regulatory guidance of real estate activities concerning all types of outgrants, in leases, acquisitions and all other inquiries concerning such matters.
  • Represent the agency in discussions, deliberations, negotiations, and completion of highly complex actions and/or sensitive situations involving the management and disposal, acquisitions and leasing of interests in real property.

  • Must complete a one-year supervisory probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Incumbent is required to travel/perform Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 25%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience applying a wide range of real estate laws, principles, concepts, policies, regulations, authorities, methods, and practices; OR 2) Negotiating complex real estate agreements that are politically sensitive in nature; OR 3) Performing the acquisition of real estate by either lease or direct purchase for use by the government. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
