Summary

This position is located within Commander, Mid-Atlantic Region, Fleet and Family Readiness Program. The purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate the operations of the snack bar in the assigned facility and perform food preparation and service as required. This position is located at JEBLC MWR Eagle Haven & PUB 19.

Duties

Help

Supervises and coordinates the preparation and sale of food items. Ensures the proper preparation, display, and pricing of food items and adherence to correct cash handling procedures. Maintains sales records and accounting documents such as Daily Activity Records (DAR's), employee cash banks, etc. As needed, prepares or facilitates preparation of customer food orders to include preparation and cooking food, ensuring proper portion control and presentation, receipt of payment, etc. Ensures appropriate sanitation and cleanliness at all times.

Ensures adequate stock levels are maintained, requisitions merchandise in accordance with proper policy and performs periodic inventories. Assists with proper receipt and storage of requisitioned items and helps maintain established controls to prevent pilferage in the facility. Reports shortages promptly to manager and assists in investigations as requested. Maintains security of facility, cash and fixed assets. Assists with ensuring security measures are in place and followed.

Assists with ensuring compliance with fire and safety regulations. Assists manager in determining quantity and components of menu items and assists in the calculation of food cost. Ensures proper quality controls and service standards are maintained.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess:

Incumbent must possess food service delivery knowledge necessary to help operate and staff a food service function, train employees and meet minimum sanitation, cash handling and food preparation requirements with a minimum of supervision. Education, training and experience may be combined to fulfill the requirement.

Must have a minimum of 3 years food service experience. Good communication skills, the ability to provide a professional demeanor and the ability to deal with a variety of patrons with tact and diplomacy are necessary.

Must obtain and maintain a current food handler's card.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement.
