Duties

Help

As a Supervisory Program Manager (Chief Digital Platforms) at the GS-0340-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Directs the acquisition and scheduling of all radio and television programming for the AFN television platforms, live linear streams, and video on demand assets
  • Develops programming strategies; evaluates technical quality, production values, content, and appropriateness against scheduling requirements and content standards
  • Performs supervisory duties; directs program reviews by subordinates and prepares review synopses and acquisition recommendations
  • Serves as the primary Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for AFN Now/AFN Go contracts
  • Senior advisor and principal Point of contact for organizational leadership regarding critical aspects of each digital platform, e.g., planning, logistics, budget, oversight, etc.
  • Evaluates monthly platform performance to identify trends and report on traffic statistics using broadcast, streaming, and web industry-standard metrics and methodology
  • Determines media requirements on behalf of the USG and communicates them to the contractor for completion

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Broadcasting operations in radio and television or streaming at a major media company developing strategies for broadcast/streaming platforms.
  • Working with leadership, contractors, and other stakeholders on key aspects of a project as it relates to successful completion of organization's stated mission goals.
  • Working with multiple stakeholders (internal and external) on a multi­faceted project in the radio and television broadcasting/streaming arena.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
