Serves as the subject matter expert on the development and maintenance of cybersecurity plans, strategy, and policy to support organizational cybersecurity initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Provides policy guidance to Defense Health Agency stakeholders.
Participates in the audits of cyber programs and projects.
Develops and oversees the DHA Risk Management Framework privacy compliance program and program staff.
Coordinates the proper tracking of enterprise cybersecurity risks to deliver the appropriate data for information management decisions.
Prepares and presents formal or informal briefings, speeches, and lectures on the developments in cybersecurity processes.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
One year trial/probationary period may be required.

This is a Cyberspace Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for certification as Advanced - Cyber Policy and Strategy Planning work role within 9 months or less of entrance on duty.

This position is identified as a Defense Acquisition Workforce (DAW) position. This DAW position requires the incumbent to be Level III certified at time of assignment or able to acquire Level III certification within 24 months of assignment.

Basic Requirements for the IT SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING/INFOSEC), GS-2210-13:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing the organization's cybersecurity policy, assisting in developing the cyber strategy, and analyzing noncompliance to determine agency risk level and security posture. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
