Duties

Help

As an Administrative Officer at the GS-0341-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Principal advisor to the U.S. Marshal and the Chief Deputy for all financial and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all operational and administrative district office expenditures are within budget and comply with published applicable Federal Accounting practices, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and USMS policy directives.
  • Responsible for annual audits.
  • Reviews and updates local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and procedures in support of administrative functions as necessary.
  • Approves and monitors procurement of operational and administrative supplies and contracts.
  • Plans the work to be accomplished by subordinates, establishes priorities, assigns work, evaluates work performance, provides advice, counsel, and guidance to subordinates.

Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).

Qualifications

GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).

You may qualify at the GS-0341-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability:
1) Advising management on budgetary matters such as status of funds, acquisition plans, account shortfalls, and/or financial regulation compliance;
2) Development of comprehensive administrative management plans to identify goals, objectives, administrative processes, and deadlines;
3) Providing advice on staffing and recruitment issues;
4) Applying a variety of purchasing regulations, methods, and procedures to acquire services and supplies using purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, or fixed price negotiated contracts; and
5) Inputting and analyzing budgetary information to ensure accurate status of obligations, accruals, and paid transactions.
