Help

Summary of Duties:  Assist the Lodging Facility Manager in the overall operation, supervision, and administration of the facility and assumes all duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Lodging Facility Manager. Assists with the preparation of annual activity operational budget, other reports and documents. Maintains records and files.  

Directly manages and oversees Front Desk/Guest Services, Breakfast, and Supply operations for the facility. Responsible for reservations process and revenue management in order to maximize occupancy and support of mission. Performs room inspections and prepare deficiency reports. Receives customer complaints and requests. Accepts guest reservations via telephone and in person, always adhering to established standards, procedures and established room rates. Registers and checks out guests, assigns rooms, issues and controls keys, presents guest folios, collects payments, maintains records using the property management system. Calculates and posts charges manually to guests' accounts. Provides guests with information and advice about location of activities and tourist attractions in the immediate area. Engages guests in a friendly and hospitable manner and seeks opportunities to exceed expectations.   

Either directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors, manages activity employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, and training employees. 

Ensures that security, safety, and housekeeping rules are followed. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse. Manages vendor accounts, accounts receivable and payable, and inventories. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand, properly stocked, and materials are in good order. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, security, sanitation and other environmental issues. 

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.   

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have three years of experience in hotel and/or lodging business administration and familiarity with business practices and market conditions applicable to program and technical requirement sufficient to perform required duties. Must have the ability to operate a variety of office machines to include a personal computer. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have an outgoing personality and be able to handle customers with tact and diplomacy. Must have good telephone etiquette. Supervisory experience in hotel or lodging is desired. Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures preferred. Ability to supervise employees and establish and maintain effective working relationship with immediate supervisor, subordinates, officials, and others. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
