Duties

Help
  • Drives various types of motor vehicles including, passenger and cargo vans.
  • Use various Motor Vehicles Weighing from 10,000 to 26,000 pounds to transport personnel, supplies, and materials throughout the installation, public roads, and city streets in all types of traffic conditions.
  • Assists with loading and unloading cargo and materials. Ensures vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking cargo papers and by visual observation.
  • Completes trip tickets and preventive maintenance service records. Fills out driver's accident report in case of accident. Performs driver's maintenance in accordance with established rules and regulations.
  • Transports large groups of people on trips where day and night driving are involved. Ensures safe travel of passengers. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all required pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation and a physical examination.
  • Possess a valid PA state driver's license or CDL to operate a government vehicle with a capacity for transporting 24 passengers is required.
  • Must be able to frequently handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • This position is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program. Incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019-R. This position has critical safety or security responsibilities, as such has been designated as a testing designated position (TDP).
  • As a condition of employment, incumbent of a TDP is subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs.

Qualifications

Standard Qualifications:

  • Applicant must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which employed for the type of vehicle(s) to be driven.
  • Must have 15 months of acceptable work experience operating a vehicle having the capacity and gear ratios of the type(s) of vehicles which he/she may be required to operate.
Highly Qualified:
  • Must have at least 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Must be willing to participate in customer service trainings.

Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants may be referred for consideration at managements request.

PCS Costs

FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.

Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
