Duties

Help

The primary duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Loads, and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies and materials to and from truck, vans, or loading docks.
  • Using a shovel, digs ditches and trenches where needed to loosen soil, and where grading and sloping are required.
  • Operates riding powered mowers and manual lawn mowers.
  • Picks up and delivers bulk mail.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid USAREUR driver's license to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds. Requires the ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
  • Experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment.
  • Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions.
  • Must be physically able to life and carry heavy objects weighing more than 50 pounds.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

Additional information

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
