Duties

Help

Plans, directs, organizes, and controls the work of senior IT specialists, assigning tasks based on priorities, deadlines, and individual capabilities. Appraises performance, recommends awards, addresses grievances, manages leave, and identifies training needs. Champions the agency's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program, promoting a discrimination-free workplace. Analyzes complex operational processes to develop, integrate, and support C2MIPS as a vital operating node within a global network-centric framework. Identifies automation requirements, ensures system integrity and security, conducts feasibility studies, evaluates vendor solutions, and implements state-of-the-art techniques. Develops and maintains programs, troubleshoots performance issues, and designs audit routines to ensure C2MIPS reliability. Directs the management of cloud-based and on-premises servers, workstations, and Point of Sale (POS) systems to ensure mission-critical availability and performance, leveraging advanced observability tools and strategic planning. Drives cybersecurity strategy, enforcing PCI-DSS compliance for POS and credit card terminals. Oversees vulnerability scans, patch management, and system hardening, and ensure anomalies are escalated to Senior Leadership. Oversees, plans, directs, and secures an Enterprise-Level Information Technology Business Services Network across four geographically separated locations, managing a vast network infrastructure and supporting a large user base. Ensures compliance with Payment Card Industries Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to protect sensitive financial data. Directs the configuration and maintenance of Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), satellite communication, and enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure, enforcing security and performance standards, planning network upgrades, managing internal penetration testing, and monitoring bandwidth utilization. Develops strategic goals to modernize and integrate the Kadena Force Support Enterprise-Level IT Business Services Networks. Collaborates with key stakeholders to deploy best practice solutions Air Force-wide. Manages IT budgets, defends funding requests, and coordinates with senior leadership to deconflict maintenance and mission impacts. Provides formal and informal training on C2MIPRS and new technologies. Offers technical assistance, resolves hardware and software issues, develops procedures to optimize equipment utilization, and maintains problem resolution databases and continuity books to support future operations. Position is position of trust. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must possess a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to effectively lead and manage a team of IT professionals. Requires advanced knowledge of IT systems, security principles, and software applications, including design, testing, and maintenance. Deep understanding of command, control, and mission processes, systems, and applications. Must have expertise in troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues to enhance performance. Must be proficient in network operations, security management (firewalls, intrusion protection), satellite communications, and systems administration. Includes experience with Force Support IT Point of Sale systems and PCI-DSS implementation. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills for stakeholder coordination and senior leadership briefings. Ability to stay current with technological advancements and anticipate future IT needs. Must have current CompTIA Security+ certification. PCI-DSS certification is highly desirable.
