  • Must obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) you must report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment Act which bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
  • Incumbent must be a graduate of the United States Army Civilian Police Academy or graduate within a one year or hire date, unless incumbent has an approved waiver/exemption from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual Medical/Psychiatric examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • Position requires CPR and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience (Minimum Qualifications): One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conducting law enforcement patrols to identify violations of federal, state, or military regulations; 2) Preparing incident reports to document criminal activities or complaints accurately; 3) Responding to emergency calls to provide immediate support or de-escalation; AND 4) Guiding junior officers in patrol procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Investigation of Fitness: A character investigation may be conducted on applicants selected for employment. The purpose of such an investigation is to secure evidence of the candidate's honesty, integrity, general character, and loyalty to the U.S. Government. Such investigations will be conducted under the security requirement of the hiring agency.

Medical Requirements: The duties of these positions require moderate to arduous physical exertion and/or duties of a hazardous nature. All positions involving Federal motor vehicle operation carry the additional medical requirements specified in 5 CFR 930 and the "General Policies and Instructions" section of this Manual.

Physical Demands: The work requires extended periods of physical exertion derived from such activities as running, walking, and occasionally lifting, pushing and/or carrying items weighing 50 pounds or more. It requires stamina, physical agility and dexterity and the strength to pursue, apprehend or detain. The incumbent may be required to push or drag heavy weights of 150 pounds or more and defend oneself or others against physical attack.

Working Environment: The work involves moderate and high risks and possible endangerment of life or serious injury that requires the exercise of safety precautions and use of personal protective equipment such as ballistic vests, coats, gloves, boots, goggles, masks, shields, weapons etc. Military public has easy access to weapons which can lead to assault with or without a weapon in order to avoid arrest. Operations are performed in areas of rough terrain on a large multi-mission military installation exceeding 4000 personnel, and with a variety of serviced technical functions.

Education
