Duties

Help
  • Executes oversight and management of the Commands Air Traffic Control/Air Traffic Services program.
  • Plans and coordinates Air Traffic Control (ATC)/ Air Traffic Services( ATS) operations and activities.
  • Represents the AG3 Aviation Division Chief, G-3/5/7 at decision-making forums, conferences, workgroups, meetings, and briefings.
  • Applies a broad technical knowledge of tactical and non-tactical ATC systems and operations to the planning and implementation of the FORSCOM ATC program.
  • Serves as the ATC member to FORSCOM Aviation Standardization Committee, and as a member of the FORSCOM Aviation Resource Management Survey (ARMS) team for the evaluation and readiness status of both fixed and tactical ATC units.

  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel of up to 20% of the time may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance through the duration of your employment
  • The incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • One-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • The employee may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience involves 1) evaluating all aspects of flight operations in units/at facilities, adequacy of operations facilities/systems, equipment and accounting procedures, and competence of Air Traffic and flight operations personnel; 2) coordinating air traffic control management events and briefing leadership of key decisions; 3) providing air traffic control technical advisory services for evaluating aviation flight operations systems, equipment, and work accomplishments against established objective; AND 4) reviewing air traffic control staff actions, command correspondence, and information briefings to synchronize the command air traffic actions and processes.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
