  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 level Basic within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting leadership in all matters pertaining to compliance with establishment and sustainment of IT user accounts; 2) Supporting management of application user accounts assuring Access Control program complies with Enterprise IT Control Standards; 3) Providing guidance in diagnosing and resolving computer problems in response to customer complaints and or issues and maintains problem tracking and resolution databases; 4) Assisting in the research, evaluation and providing of feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements; and 5) Assisting in the development and maintenance of policy and procedures that set standards for IT access controls. Education

Applicants that do not meet the specialized experience may qualify with education as listed below. The degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

OR

Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

This position has been designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position in specialty area Customer Services and Technical Support (DCWF Work Role Code 411) and as a condition of employment incumbents of this position are required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirement of SECNAV M-5239.2, which include:

  1. Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.21) associated with the specialty area and level commensurate with the scope of major assigned duties for the position to which you are assigned, and;
  2. Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2 A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan (IDP) signed by both the employee and supervisor.
