Duties

Help
  • Serves as Chief, Credentials Branch and Subject Matter Expert on hospital's The Joint Commission (TJC) Medical Staff standards.
  • Plans, monitors and performs the functions of the credentials/privileging program.
  • Provides guidance and counseling to employees and resolves disciplinary problems should they occur.
  • Analyzes and implements new policy requirement and regulations which provides guidance used for application in performing a wide variety of credentialing/privileging activities.
  • Manages adverse privileging action notifications.

  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work.
  • Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations, unless exempted by a licensed physician.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: serving as a subject matter expert on credentialing and privileging in a medical facility which includes ensuring compliance and maintenance of credentials, troubleshooting credentialing issues that arise and maintaining credentials reference library. Additionally, performs full range of supervisory duties such as assigning work to subordinates, developing performance plans, providing training and taking disciplinary action. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).



Education
