Duties

Help
  • Performs technical and procedural administrative support and coordination duties for a NDU College or Component. Interacts professionally with senior members of the military, the government, and academia.
  • Plan, coordinate and integrate administrative activities and procedural functions of the office: daily operational, and administrative duties, and mid-to-long range schedule planning and coordination of academic faculty related events and program.
  • Directly supports an Operations Chief, Chief of Staff, Dean of Administration, or Operations Supervisor in all fact-finding, editing and routing of correspondence, work measurement and processes.
  • Assists in task studies and analysis activities related to the efficient and effective administration, management, and operations supporting the delivery of an academic program(s) at the University.
  • Coordinates domestic/international travel as required to support faculty, staff, students and guest speakers. May need to coordinate travel, appointments, passport/visa submission, and logistic support with foreign country and US Embassy officials.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

Qualifications

You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience that has provided the applicant with the specific skills and knowledge of theory and principles of management and organization, including 1) travel processing; 2) provides advice on administrative policies; 3) prepare standardized documents; 4) develop and maintain calendars; and 5) paper and electronic file/record management.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

SUBSTITUTE OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Education is substitutable for specialized experience for this grade level. You must have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. if related to the position.If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.

Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).

    • Qualifying education from colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of equivalency to that acquired in U.S. colleges and universities. Applicants educated in whole or in part in foreign countries must submit sufficient evidence, including transcripts, to an accredited private organization for an equivalency evaluation of course work and degree. You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation upon request. Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.

The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security determination to occupy a Non-critical Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.
