This National Guard position is for a HEALTH SYSTEM SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1119000and is part of the FL JFHQ, National Guard.
As a Health System Specialist, GS-0671-09, you will be responsible for oversight, administration, and implementation of policies pertaining to state medical affairs, and exercise of programs such as: Line Of Duty (LOD) Investigation Program, Incapacitation Pay Program, Active Duty Medical Extension (ADME) Program, MOS Medical Review Board (MMRB) Program, Medical Disqualification Program, Follow up Health Care Program, Medical Claims Processing Program, Medical Travel and Orders Program, Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Screening Program, Immunization Program, routine and special physical examinations and waivers, Weight Control Program, and Over-40 Medical Screening Program. Coordinates with the National Guard Bureau (NGB), the Military Medical Support Office (MMSO), Tri-Care, U.S. Total Army Personnel Command (PERSCOM), Regional Medical Command, the Military Treatment Facilities, and the Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), and Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) Liaison Offices located within the state.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open ONLY to ON BOARD excepted permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the Florida National Guard.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

best interest of the Florida National Guard.

Other completed degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering and Health Management/Health Systems Engineering, Operations Research or other closely-related degree fields.

A Graduate Degree in Health Administration, Health Care Administration (or equivalent), Health Care Management, Health Management and Policy, Health Services Administration (or equivalent), Hospital Administration (or equivalent), Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Information Systems Management, or other business-related equivalent.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:GS09 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience with medical readiness program of the state, which includes planning, coordinating, and providing guidance to all medical resources within the state; Experience with command health programs, medical/dental aspects of mobilization, deployment and operations, medical education, sustainment, proficiency training, credentialing of health care professionals; Experience with fiscal management, policy development and implementation.

Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
