As the DISA Central Battle Captain, you serve as a liaison between CENTCOM and DISA Central on all things telecommunication related that impacts the CENTCOM AOR.
You are responsible for providing assistance with unscheduled outages of circuits or services provided by DISA.
As a Battle Captain, you monitor and de-conflict Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) with CENTCOM and it's components.
As a battle captain you oversee all efforts to reroute, troubleshoot, restore, maintain, and secure services in support of the Combatant Command, services, and agencies.
Provide operational direction and technical support to the Global Service Desk (GSD) to open and track the progress of all CENTRAL Region network events ensuring minimal impacts to the War-fighter.
As battle captain you will be a representative of DISA Central on multiple daily and weekly briefings which include CENTCOM, DISA Global, and DISA Central.
This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
This position may require an alternative or shift work schedule.
Overtime may be required as workload demands.
This position requires the individual to travel away from their normal duty station to other locations within the continental United States (CONUS).
This is a mission Essential position.
Completion of Foundational Qualifications in 9 months, completing Residential qualification requirements in 12 months.

Basic Requirements:

Qualifying Experience:
For the GS12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS11grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS11 if outside the Federal service, is required.
Qualifying experience is defined as Experience with maintaining technical and operational standards to allow for information sharing. Experience with situation awareness reporting for dissemination of executive summaries. Experience with coordinating actions to support and maintain cyber operations.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of the competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience requirement at the GG-12 grade level.
