Duties

Help
  • Serves as a Facility Aid in a Fitness Facility. Works under the direction of the Facility Manager. Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility.
  • Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts. Assists with publicity of programs and events and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
  • Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR215-3, 2-13i to include a National Agency Check (NACI).
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position. May be required to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be willing to work occasional rotating shifts to include weekend and/or holiday shift as needed based on mission needs.
  • Must possess the following within 6 months of employment: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements are:

  • Possesses related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to perform the duties of position as indicated above.
Applicants meeting the following will be considered Highly Preferred:
  • Six (6) months of customer service experience.
  • Six (6) months of cash register experience and/or experience performing financial transactions.
  • Experience working with athletic and/or fitness activities.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

  • Incentives will not be paid.
