Duties

Help
  • Reviews solicitations and pre-award requests for special clauses and requirements and ensures prospective contractor is not listed on the debarred/ineligible contractor list.
  • Identifies the need for and requests special technical or engineering assistance in connection with complex procurements.
  • Provides training to the Contract Management Offices (CMO) personnel and assists the IS, as needed, when providing training to the contractor.
  • Assists with Special Priority Assistance (SPA) requests from contractors.
  • Engages in active discussions with their Contract Management Team in the event of discordant labor situations or negotiations.
  • Reports imminent strike information in accordance with the current DCMA Instruction.
  • Supports information gathering, analysis and reporting associated with work stoppages that impact contract fulfillment.

Qualifications

To qualify for an Industrial Specialist (General), your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Monitoring contractor delivery performance and production management systems in order to provide technical analysis of manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluating and risk analysis of contractor performance in delivering products, services and systems.
  • Ensuring contractor's processes are efficient, mitigate contract schedule risk and inform customers of potential delays.




Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
