Summary
The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) Central Office, located at the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO, is currently searching for a Training Specialist. This role is instrumental in designing and delivering instructional and training services to employees across the organization. This position is key in advancing the VCS's mission of continuous learning by supporting employee training, development, education, performance support, and consultation initiatives.
Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Training Strategy: Collaborates with the Employee Development Manager to assess training needs and recommends learning solutions.
- Program Design & Delivery: Plans and delivers diverse training formats-including classroom, online, webinars, and microlearning-tailored to VCS roles and aligned with organizational goals.
- Curriculum & Content Development: Creates engaging, adult-learning-based content such as lesson plans, guides, videos, and testing materials for both virtual and in-person training.
- System & Session Preparation: Develops training modules, sets up sessions with preloaded materials, and establishes SOPs to support seamless learning experiences.
- Instruction & Administrative Support: Leads training sessions and manages administrative tasks like course enrollment, account creation, and participant communications.
- Additional Responsibilities & Flexibility: Perform and adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
