Duties

Help
  • Serves as advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) programs.
  • Plans, directs, controls and provides advisory services on all aspects of the Career Enhancement program.
  • Plans, directs, and controls all aspects of the Customer Service Program.
  • Plans, directs, and controls all aspects of the human resources employment program.
  • Plans, directs, and controls all aspects of the Relocation program for all members.
  • Ensures accuracy of human resources data system and performs functional review of data reliability relative to the relocations program.
  • Develops wing readiness plans for the administration of contingencies and mobilizations.
  • Manages contingency and exercise deployments. Serves as advisor to wing/unit commanders on deployment programs.
  • Manages Deployment Systems.
  • Is responsible to the Military Support Flight Commander for the Personnel Support for Contingency Operations (PERSCO).
  • Serves as Classified Control Officer responsible for safeguarding and proper destruction of classified material IAW AF instructions, higher headquarters and local guidance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.

The policy to have a compatible MOS/AFSC has been suspended. When reinstated, you will have one year to meet the qualifications of this position or meet the requirements in the guidance set by NGB.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements equivalent to at least GS-7. At the GS-7 level this includes providing technical assistance to all reporting officials. Compiling quality reviews and reports for compliance with current directives and standards. Participating in development of procedures and establishment of policy for building, updating, auditing, and for accountability and disposition of automated and manual records. Experience identifying the scope or nature of a situation and determine the need for and obtain additional information through research of pertinent records, identifying trends and patterns, and/or review of technical reference material in order to resolve problems or controversies pertaining to human resources matters. Experience encompassing human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with Department of Defense, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force.

The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is the final approval for all ETP waivers. If approved, the memorandum will be returned to you and then submitted with your application.

Education

You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9.

To qualify on education alone must have one of the following:
master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
