Duties

Help

The incumbent in this position will perform duties as a data analyst. Plans and carries out routine assignments using industry standard methods, approaches, and procedures for application software development. Designs, writes, tests, debugs, and maintains software applications that meet technical and functional requirements. Applies database management principles and methodologies, including data structures, data modeling, data warehousing, and transaction processing to the development and design of applications. Participates as part of a group in major projects. Prepares and presents reports and briefings. Advises IT staff on software design principles, methods and approaches. Applies IT policies, standards and guidelines. Evaluates and recommends adoption of new or alternative approaches to application development. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. Must include at least one year of experience performing duties at a level which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform successfully in the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate IT knowledge and skill in applying:
-Software design principles, methods, and approaches;
-Infrastructure requirements, such as bandwidth and server sizing;
-Quality assurance principles; and
- Software testing, documentation, and performance monitoring methods.

All Qualified applicants will be rated against the highly qualifying criteria by a rating panel for evaluation of the quality and extent of your total accomplishments, experience and education. Those applicants determined to be highly qualified will be referred to the hiring official for consideration. The highly qualified candidates may undergo an interview and reference checks.

HIGHLY QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

1) Knowledge and understanding of scanning tools (i.e. Assures Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and associated Security Suite (Nessus)).
2) Knowledge and understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and automated benchmarks (Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
3) Knowledge and understanding on the use of DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) workflow tool.
4) Graduate degree in computer science, information science, information systems management, technology management, or cyber security.
5) Proficiency in analyzing enterprise-level data related to cloud architecture, virtualization, networking, storage, and databases; capable of identifying trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities
6) Ability to support cloud migration and sustainment efforts through data collection, transformation, and visualization to inform planning and decision-making.
