This Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position will be assigned to Child and Youth Services at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. The purpose of this position is to perform routine manual duties in food service areas.

The position includes paid holidays, annual and sick leave accrual, as well as optional participation in Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance plans, Retirement, 401K and Flexible Benefits plans.

Must be available to work between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Introductory Statement: The purpose of this position is to perform routine manual duties in food service areas or food preparation.

Regular & Recurring Duties and Responsibilities:

Loads and operates dishwashers, stores clean dishes, glasses and silverware. Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses and silverware in dishwashing area.

Operates, breaks down and cleans all electrical equipment for food preparation. Cleans kitchen equipment (e.g., worktables, sinks and refrigerators). Washes tables and counters, vacuums and shampoos carpets. Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, cleans windows, washes walls and cleans and sanitizes trashcans. Removes dishes and trays from tables.

Sorts, washes, peels and cuts fresh fruits and vegetables. Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments and cold menu items (e.g., salad, dessert, bread and cold beverages) on a serving line.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be willing to provide proof of status as a U.S. citizen or Non-U.S. National. Must meet specified residency criteria.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain, maintain, and provide evidence of current immunizations this includes annual influenza vaccinations and be free of all communicable diseases.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
No previous experience is required.

Qualifying Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Ability to read and understand written material and be able to follow simple oral instructions. Ability to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines. Ability to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds, and occasionally over 20 pounds with assistance. Ability to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push and bend for long periods of time.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
